If you want an edge on the market, you need to understand a few metrics:
🤑 How to analyze a balance sheet
🤑 How to interpret earnings on a year-over-year (YoY) basis
🤑 How a company’s prospects align with big trends

A few months back, we added San Juan Basin Royalty Trust (NYSE: SJT) to our micro-cap Diamond Tier model portfolio.
In essence, this is a play on a big trend we’ve noticed: the overwhelming demand for electricity.
Considering the proliferation of new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and crypto mining, among others — the demand for electricity continues to outpace supply:
In addition to this growing demand, it takes years to build electrical infrastructure to accommodate consumption.
Courtesy of electricity becoming scarcer, SJT 0.00%↑ could be bid up due to its correlation to the electricity market.
SJT 0.00%↑ is an energy sector royalty trust in the U.S.
It owns approximately 75% net profit interest in a large number of natural gas properties in the San Juan Basin of New Mexico.
About 98% of the royalties SJT 0.00%↑ collects stems from natural gas.
As electricity prices climb, we expect revenue growth as increased investor interest drives the stock higher.
In its recent earnings, it shared that net income rocketed nearly 600% — from $300K in the red to $1.4 million.
These numbers may seem small, but keep in mind it’s a micro-cap company with just a $294 million market cap.
As the electricity bull market takes off, this small company could rocket — especially considering it has no debt to weigh it down in a high-inflationary environment.
We’re currently up 14% on our position, but we’ll hold to potentially close it for a larger gain.
